Way too much information is required for the energy assistance. I suspect racial suppression.

DoubleD

I cannot figure out why these guys walk on these busy roadways instead of a few feet off in the grass. Twice last week I barely missed a young man dressed in black on Tobacco Rd walking near the U.S. Battery. I've seen groups of them walking 2-3 feet in the roadway along tobacco and others walking down the center of the left turn lane on 56. Not too bright.

SCGAL53

Geez, PT what is your problem. They require the information to prevent duplication and to make sure their bills are at the point of cutoff. Everything is not about race, except where you are concerned. I bet you went there and tried to falsify your info and was denied.

triscuit

PT, seems like if you were wanting someone else to help pay your utilities for you, the least you could do is have the correct info for them. Heaven knows we don't want to inconvenience those wantng another free ride.

patriciathomas

I guess I'm just primed by the accusations at every polling place when IDs are mentioned. Maybe it is just for efficiency's sake. Guess I was just caught up in the political moment.

KingJames

I don't think there is anything political about senior citizens' heating bills. If anyone should get this "free ride" it should be those 65 and older folks who are on fixed incomes. They are the most deserving of all on assistance. PatT, I don't believe a political party was mentioned so you are correct in saying you were caught up in the political moment. No politics on this story, just some old folks who need to stay warm this winter.

Am I the only one who didn't miss the facetiousness of the first post?

Crazy Irish

You are correct Patriciathomas. I'm white and they wouldn't help me.

RAWR

Highway 56 is real dangerous. I have driven it many times at night and just miss hitting people because they are walking in the roadway at 2am.

patriciathomas

Thank you gnx, sometimes I feel I out here all by my self.

HYPOCRITES 08

You are correct crazy Irish, I am Black and they would not help me. GEEZ!

MaryPlayer

Now you have to be white posing as a black in order to qualify, Obama rules. Haven't you heard?
