As native of Augusta, I remember casting my first ballot for Charlie Norwood in 1996.
Some 12 years later, I now live in Oconee County, and I proudly cast my ballot for Bobby Saxon last week.
Everyone gets tempted to merely vote for the letter next to someone's name, but in this election Saxon represents a real change and someone who will work for all parts of the district. There is no doubt that Paul Broun is good man, but he's been a congressman who's been more concerned with sound bites and exposure rather than working for results in the 10th Congressional District.
A combat veteran who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, Saxon believes in fiscal responsibility, constituent service and a strong national defense. It's those types of commonsense values we need, and I hope the residents of my hometown will keep that in mind when they vote.
