SALEM, S.C. - Carl Winfred Blanton, 70, husband of Patsy Byars Blanton, of 525 Poverty Lane, Salem, SC, died Thursday, October 30, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Blanton was the son of the late Raymond A. and Eva Mae Millwood Blanton. He was owner of Carl's Clogging Supplies and retired from Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. Mr. Blanton was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was also a member of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92. In addition to his wife, Mr. Blanton is survived by daughters, Gigi Blanton of Beech Island, SC and Krystal Taylor and husband, Steve of Salem; grandson, Dalton of Salem; and brother, Larry Blanton of Six Mile, SC. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with entombment to follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 31 at Davenport Funeral Home, Walhalla, SC.
