EVANS, Ga. - Stanley T. Ogrodowski entered into rest Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Woodbridge, N.J., but resided most of his life in South Florida. He had lived in Evans since 2004. Stanley was a veteran of World War II as an officer in both the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine. He was a long time member of the Maitre D' Society and worked for most of his career at the Diplomat Hotel in Hallandale, FL and at the Rustic Inn in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Stan is survived by Florence, his wife of 62 years, daughter: Carol Lee Oester and husband Alan of Martinez, son: Thomas Stanley Ogrodowski of Key Largo, FL, daughter: Susan Weber and husband Jeff of Lawrenceville, GA. He has six grandchildren: John Stanley Oester, MD and wife Julie, Dr. James Oester and wife Stacy, Alan "Chip" Oester, MD and wife Jessica, all of Martinez, Jonathon Weber, Jason Weber and Justin Weber of Lawrenceville. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Katherine, James, Nathan, Banks, Turner, and Anna Oester, all of Martinez. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Fr. Michael Lubinsky officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A burial service with military honors will take place at a later date.
