ATTICA, Mich. - Dorothy Ann Purdy, 83, of Attica, MI, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at Marwood Manor Nursing Home in Port Huron, MI. She was born April 11, 1925 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Joseph A. and Anna V. (Dobis) Bolinsky. She married Grant Purdy January 3, 1948 at St. Mary Mystical Rose Catholic Church in Armada, MI. Mrs. Purdy was a founding member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden, MI. She and her husband contributed financially and physically with the building of the original church building. She was very loving, giving, and had a sharing heart who loved helping people, especially the elderly. She is survived by her children: Pamela (James) Webber of Saginaw, MI; Barbara Pia of Evans, GA; Michael Purdy of Evans, GA; Richard (Denise) Purdy of Troy, MI; grandchildren Grant, Marc, Kris, Nicole, Ashleigh and Richard; great-grandchildren Ashley, Apryl, Austin, Dawson, Tristan, and Madison. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister; Margaret Kurta. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Tuesday, October 28, 2008 and 2-8pm Wednesday, October 29, 2008 with a rosary at 7pm at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont, MI. The family will greet visitors from 10am Thursday, October 30, 2008 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden, MI with funeral mass beginning at 11am. Father Wayne Ureel will officiate. Committal service will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden, MI. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Purdy may be made to Susan B. Komen for the Cure at www.komen.org or to St. Cornelius Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont, MI.
