WADLEY, Ga. - Mr. Lamar S. Jones, age 71, of Wadley, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31st at 11 a.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Donald Lumpkin will officiate. Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post 94. Survivors are his children, Clifford Allen Jones (Tracy) of Macon, Shane Stephen Jones (Anita) of Hawaii, and Sharon Kathryn J. Meadows (Darin) of Perry; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Jones and Harvard Jones (Mary), both of Sandersville and Robert Jones (Jan) of Savannah; and sisters, Mable J. Hodges of Louisville and Nellie Ruth J. Powell (Virgil) of Sandersville. The family will be at the residence of Harvard and Mary Jones of Ridge Rd. in Sandersville and will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
