AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Joseph Lampkin, Sr., of Augusta Avenue, entered into rest Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Willie James Williams officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors are four sons, Larry Harris, Joseph (Deborah) Lampkin, Jr., Steve (Katherine) Lampkin, Darrell (LaShon) Lampkin; two devoted daughters, Dorothy (Ernest) Lampkin, Barbara Lampkin, Augusta; four brothers, James (Junnett) Lampkin, Jr., Pierce (Daisy) Lampkin, Augusta, Henry Lampkin, Philadelphia, Pa., and Robert (Sandra) Lampkin, Hephzibah; four sisters, Lizzie Leverett, Anna Dunn, Appling, Ethel (O.D.) Colvin, Rosa Benning, Hephzibah; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; devoted grandchildren, Carlos Carter and Daniel Lampkin; three sisters-in-law, Georgia Lampkin, Iva (Josh) Wright, Mary (Eddie) Fountain; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Dorothy) Tutt, Clarence Tutt, and Freddie Tutt; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; devoted cousin, Johnny Holmes, Hephzibah.
