AUGUSTA, Ga. - Ms. Mary Ellen Messer Redfern of Lumpkin Road died on Friday, October 24, 2008. She was 69 years old. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta. The funeral will be conducted on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church, 3131 Old Louisville Road, Augusta. Ms. Redfern's body will lie in state at the church on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Jim Johnson and Rev.
