Participants from as far north as Harbor Springs, Mich., as far south as St. Petersburg, Fla., and as far west as Salt Lake City, Utah, were among the more than 730 runners who had registered through Thursday. Augusta-area runners, though, make up most of the field.
The 13.1-mile race, officially the USATF-GA Masters Half Marathon, begins and ends at Augusta Common. The course winds through downtown Augusta. Runners will start on the north side of Augusta Common on Reynolds Street and head west. They'll weave their way through Augusta to Highland Avenue, travel down Walton Way and follow Milledge Road to Lake Olmstead Park.
After circling the park, the runners will return downtown on Calhoun Expressway and end up on the south side of Augusta Common on Broad Street.
Race organizers have encouraged the public to go out on the route and watch the race.
