Couple find drugs on their taco meal

LAKEWOOD, COLO. --- A Colorado couple found an unusual topping on their order of tacos: a small bag of marijuana.

They discovered the drugs with their order from a Del Taco restaurant and called police, Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis said.

Dennis Klermund, 26, who police say waited on the husband when he picked up the food Oct. 16, faces charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Klermund initially denied any knowledge of the drugs but later admitted the bag was meant for a friend after a search dog found more marijuana in a locker, police said.

Mr. Klermund no longer works at the restaurant, manager Ulises Montero said. A message left for Mr. Klermund was not returned.

Man arrested in theft lifts picture at police station

BARRE, VT. --- Imagine being arrested for theft, then stealing a photo from a police bulletin board after you get to the station.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department says 25-year-old Montpelier resident Shawn Braley tried it, and later told police he snagged the picture because he thought it was "cool."

Mr. Braley pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of grand larceny in the theft of $1,300 worth of property in a car break-in, marijuana possession and three violations of his conditions of release on earlier charges.

Washington County Deputy State's Attorney Bob Menzel told the judge, "This is a defendant that's just not getting it."

Woman carries grandkids

CLEVELAND --- Not only has a 56-year-old Ohio woman given birth to triplets, but they're also her own granddaughters.

Jaci Dalenberg carried the babies as a surrogate for her daughter, Kim Coseno. The two identical twins and their sister were born by Caesarean section Oct. 11. They were more than two months premature, and each weighed less than three pounds.

A Cleveland Clinic news release says the infants and the grandmother are all doing well.

According to a clinic spokesman, Ms. Dalenberg offered herself as a surrogate when Mrs. Coseno and her husband, Joe, were waiting to adopt. The couple used in vitro fertilization.

Robber gets away in style

IRVING, TEXAS --- Economic times might not be that tough for a bank robber in the Dallas area.

Irving police say the on-the-lam robber used a limousine as his getaway vehicle.

Police say a Comerica Bank branch was held up Friday, with the robber jumping into the passenger side of a black limo, which sped away.

Vehicle strikes wild boar

LANCASTER, MASS. --- Massachusetts State Police say a 200-pound Russian wild boar was euthanized after being struck by a vehicle on a road in Lancaster earlier this week.

That was a big surprise to state wildlife experts. They say although some wild boars are known to live in northern New England, there never has been a native population of feral swine in Massachusetts.
