STAR OF THE GAME: Richmond Academy QB Mar-Quon Medlock threw for 153 yards and a touchdown and also ran for four touchdowns.
PLAY OF THE GAME: After Cross Creek came out in the second half with a touchdown on its first drive, the Musketeers answered with a 90-yard kick return for a touchdown by senior Don Reid .
WHY RICHMOND ACADEMY WON: Both teams have similar pass-happy, spread offenses. But it was the Musketeers, behind Medlock, who were more consistent and effective on offense. The result for the Musketeers was putting 46 points on the scoreboard.
WHY CROSS CREEK LOST: The Razorbacks were simply unable to contain Medlock, and their second-half push was too late to pull out a win.
QUOTABLES: "From game one, I knew they were going to play hard. But we've got to learn to put four quarters together ... As soon as we learn to put two halves together, we will be OK. It's just a learning process."
-- Cross Creek coach Scott Tate
"We just want to play hard. We've got a great senior class that push the rest of the guys and we come out and play hard. We're pleased with where we're at so far."
-- Richmond Academy coach Chris Hughes
