EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Mr. Eugene Simpkins, 88, of Mims Street, entered into rest October 23, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Simpkins, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Moores A.M.E. Church. Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Simpkins of the home; two daughters, Janie M. Dixon, Edgefield, S.C. and Yvonne W. (L.D.) Walker, Ridge Spring, S.C.; a son, Joe Lewis (Billy) Jones, Edgefield; a sister, Bernice Morgan, Edgefield; a brother, Franklin (Susie Bell) Simpkins, Edgefield; sisters-in-law, Mary Eliza Simpkins and Mary Lee Simpkins; 14 grandchildren; 34 great- grandchildren; 31 great-great- grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the residence or after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Moores A.M.E. Church with the Rev.
