I don't know if what i have to say is or may be showing disrespect & if that is how my comment is taken i apoligize before hand. But i see no disrepect in this email on my part at all. I live in Burke County, have for at least 20 yrs doing on 21 in near future. My complaint or maybe that is not what it is; but my disappointment in the way Graystone Rance handles certain "animal problems" is absurd at least to me. Where we live which is maybe 10-15 mins. from Greystone, so it's not like an hour to two hour ride to my neighboro head. anyway this is whole kit & caboodle: 2 wks ago on i want to say that on a possbile fri afternoon, our neighbor called & spoke w/ Mr. Askew about a "EMU/Ostrich had showed up in our area at the end of out driveway & almast right in front of his house. He fedm it, & gave it some water, then he called Graystone about the situation, Mr. Eskew stated he couldn't lease the ranch at that time since his wife was in town taking care of businees, but that he would come over that sat morning & then figure out the best way to handle the "Bird"... We've seen that those birds can be dangerous if provoked. (SORRY BUT STORY WILL PROCEED ON THE FOLLOWING EMAIL, NO SPACE)

Here i go with the rest of our story from this small surburban neighborhood, I beleive ther are a total of 9 house on our road, & one is empty, up for sale. Anyway to contine & get to my point & my main questuin: From my understanding Greystone Ranch is a non-profit organization with is state & federally licensed animal rehabilitation center, sanctuary, & preserve which rescues over 3000 animals annually. THRY DID NOT & I SAY DID NOT rescue the emu/ostrich, that i know. Some bad boys in our area started throwing rocks & sticks at the animal & that scared & irratated him more. The neighbor at the end of the road called law enforcement, & i guess they notified mr. eskew, he did come out got on the boys & told them they could go to jail for mistratment of animals. Never mentioned anything about sometime of a safe environment/ habitant for this spitiful bird. He is at our neighbors beside us, they have a fenced in backyard & that is where he has been for i know a week. They said they would just try & a keep him as a pet. But they can turn on you & be very mean. Could you check on what we need to do to help yhis animal & get him back to his own habitat. Thank you so much for your time.

Last, just wanted to apoligize for the misspelling of quite a few word in my post. i can promise you i know how to spell, but i just statd a new computer & i'm still learning
as muh as i can. Also what do they feed it, do they have to havesum type of food, etc. Anyway enough on this subject, but it's does worring me about sumone being stupid & getting hurt whether it be a wild animal or some young boys, & they are just don't know what may happen. I just wanted to let your station know & maybe u can get us the total & true stores of what the procedure consists in & where do we start? THANK YOU SO MUCH no matter the outcome. Susan Buckley
