AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the VA Medical Center, Mr. Harold L. Watson, 84, of Augusta. Mr. Watson was a native of Winder, GA and had resided in Augusta for the past 30 years. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps; an Auto Mechanic with the Civil Service at Fort Gordon and loved NASCAR Racing. Family members include his daughter and son-in-law: Candy Dixon Thacker and Brian of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren: Nicholas Thacker, Natalie Thacker, Nolan Thacker and sister: Mildred Griffith of Winder, GA. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Fr. Edward Frank officiating. A private interment will follow at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.
