AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Irma Mackie, wife of the late Leroy Mackie, Sr., of Reese Avenue, entered into rest Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Derwin Jackson officiating. Burial will be Sunday, October 26, 2008 in Millen, Ga. She was a native of Jenkins County, Ga.; a graduate of Luvenia Beauty School; a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she was a member of the Usher Board and a retiree of Kendall Company after 38 years of service. Survivors are five daughters, Wanda Mackie, Violet Mackie, Gail Irvin, Patricia Sullivan, Barbara Scott, Augusta; six sons, Larry (Tareon) Mackie, Leroy (Lucy) Mackie, Jr., Augusta, Vernon E. Mackie, Charlotte, N.C., Robert (Jessie) Mackie, Aiken, S.C., Charles (Tonya) Mackie, Martinez, Harold (Cheryl) Reid; one brother, Belton (Angela) Rose, Detroit, Mich.; 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Viola Slappy, Willie G. Mackie, Bessie (Charlie) Butler; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
