You are forgetting John McCain's executive experience in the US Navy. He was a fighter pilot, commanded a training squadron, and served as the Navy's liaison to the US Senate.
The liberal news media and the leftist women's groups are in an uproar over the possibility of a John McCain presidential win.
Their fears are not due to what McCain will or will not do; rather, they are based on their visceral dislike of Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin.
Her family life and her genuine persona and her apparent political skills are not what the leftists want in a female who is seeking high national political office. "Unqualified" for the country's highest executive position is their mantra.
Her adversaries fail to realize (or mention) that Palin is the only one of the four candidates who has had any executive experience. Sens. Joseph Biden, John McCain and Barack Obama have had no executive experience other than to run their own Senate offices.
Having been a mayor and being a governor, Palin understands that the sign on President Harry Truman's desk stating, "THE BUCK STOPS HERE" referred to the fact thatÂa chief executive's decisions are made with no personal safety net.
Conversely, the members of the Senate can manipulate, obfuscate andÂexcuse their way out of any undesirable results their individual votes may cause. These men are talkers: Palin's a doer.

She can see Russia, spend 150k on wardrobe, etc, and is an expert on not answering a question. All she knows how to say is golly-gee, Ayers and terrorist.
You can dress an airhead in a $150,000 wardrobe, but she's still an airhead.
It would be good to see an honest, valid comparison of personal campaign expenses so we could have some perspective on the issue instead of notoriously dishonest democrat spin. I'm sure that last summer the Palin family wasn't prepared for life on the campaign trail and that her wardrobe was not adequate for the demands of such a national campaign. Was $150.000 warranted? Evidently the person holding the McCain campaign purse strings thought it was.
Palin has a travelling celebrity stylist on the campaign trail as well. She's being paid twice the salary as McCain's foreign policy adviser. While people are losing their 401K's, Palin is flying around the country with 150K wardrobe and a Hollywood stylist. Typical insensitivity of Republicans to the common man. "Let them eat cake."
Barak Obama has spent $125 MILLION on "administration". He has $550,000 classified as "unknown". Hypocrites are us.

Conservatives are trying to disguise Palin as more experienced than two sitting US Senators that both have law degrees. Palin has no international trade experience, no immigration experience, and has never dispatched the National Guard for any type of crisis. Its fine for Conservatives to be delusional concerning Palin's abilities, but most people respect Palin for what she truly is.....a soccer mom! The US would be the laughing stock of the world to be represented by Palin. She makes a pretty good fool of herself here at home. Can we imagine her being asked for advice in the Senate, the UN, and Foreign Affairs cmte. I don't want to insult Palin, but she is a terrible mistake for VP. Not that I would vote for McCain if he changed, but imagine the nationally fallout if McCain had a chance to win? I guess there is a part of me that doesn't care because I don't feel McCain can win, but he deserves to lose for having made such a poor choice for VP. This ranks up there with Bush appointing a horse trainer to run FEMA and then comes Katrina. Obama 08!!

to all who think she is qualified, review comments made by george will, who i call the uncle of conservitive, bill buckley being the father, he does not think she is qualified, so it is not just the liberal, democrats..etc. being a conservative myself it take much more than being a governor of a state with less people than atlanta. it is important to have knowledge in areas such as economics, political science, history, civics, and about the constitiution of the untied states. just knowing where your state sits in proximity to the soviet union is not enuff when she does not even know or aware that the vice president does not make or assist in policy development withing the senate, the VP is only there to cast a vote in the event of a 50/50 tie

I am an Independent that believes Sonny Perdue is honest, but I believe Bush/Cheney, McCain/Palin, and anyone that gets caught asking for sex in airports, or asking teenage pagers for sex in Capitol bldg can not be trusted. There are many Liberals that are decent and well respected Christians that are better choices than current sitting Conservatives. I voted for Sonny Perdue because I felt he would better serve Georgians than Mark Taylor. My alligiance is to what I believe and never to a party at any cost. Conservatives are weird because now you guys starting to lie to yourselves to alter your reality rather than admit we need a truthful transition away from Conservative dishonesty. Attack Obama all you want, but many Conservatives are ready for honest change that will come from Liberals. As for me, I believe dear Phyllis should campaign loud and clear for equality of women.
