This marks the 15th year SCDOT employees have spent a week focused on cleaning highways throughout the state.

To help ensure travelers can enjoy the beauty of South Carolina without the unsightliness of litter.

3. When was the event held and how many employees participated in Aiken County?

A total of 45 employees assisted in the cleanup. It was held during the week of Sept. 8-12.

4. How much debris was removed from Aiken County roads?

SCDOT maintenance crews removed 17,275 pounds of trash from along 91 miles of highways in the county.

5. How much trash was removed across the state during that one week?

Statewide, 1,594 employees removed 268,842 pounds of trash from 2,759 miles of highway.
