Sarah L. Luke (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sarah L. Luke, wife of the late Steadman Weeks and William Dozier Luke, of Nottingham Drive, entered into rest Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the residence. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Robert Austin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Luke, a native of Lincoln County, Ga., attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. She retired from the Veterans Administration Linwood Division. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Jessie Still, Kathleen Still, Mattie Luke, and Joe Lawton. She is survived by daughter, Martha Beckett of Augusta; grandchildren, Debra Eastmead of Augusta and Steadman Crawford of Laurel, Md.; five great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Donnie Chavis, Dennie Miller, Justin Meadows, Charlie Luke, Scott Johnson, and Johnny Matthews.
