AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Rollins May entered into rest Tuesday, October 14, 2008. She was a native of Richmond County, born April 16, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Pearl Rollins and Helen Walker Huffman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Edwin Morris May, Jr. After graduating from Harlem High she attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, following this she married Edwin and began her life as an army wife, following his career in the service of his country. She was a devoted wife and mother raising five children. Ginny's life was spent in the service of others and she'll be remembered as a loving person. Outside of family and church her passions were bridge and painting. She was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and attended the Church of The Most Holy Trinity. Survivors include daughters: Helen May and Michelle May, both of Augusta; sons: Edwin M. May, III (Jennifer) of Atlanta, Charles A. May (Paula) of Augusta and Carl H. May of Atlanta, grandchildren: Megan Virginia Reese, Charles Andrew May, Jr. and Edwin Brooks May and Aunt: Ida Johnson. Mrs. May was also and pre-deceased by son Stephen S. May. The Funeral Mass will be held today, Friday, October 17, 2008, at 12:15 P.M., at the Church of The Most Holy Trinity with Father Timothy C. Donahue celebrant. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
