LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Mr. Lamar Sheppard, age 87, entered into eternal life Saturday October 11, 2008. He was born in Jefferson County, retired as a maintenance worker from Thermo King and was a member of Waldens United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday October 13, 2008 at Waldens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Keith Hadden, David Cowan, Michael Travelstead, Hardy Gray and Jeff Tanner. Survivors include his wife of 66 years Elva Williams Sheppard, Louisville; four children Joe ( Grace) Sheppard, Wadley, Linda (Rick) Simmons, Hephzibah, Betsy (Donnie) Dunbar , Ponce Inlet, FL and Susan (Barry) Gray, Louisville; brother Tag ( Lois) Sheppard; sisters Marie Williams, Helen Thomas, Judy Tanner all of Louisville and Dianne (Gary) Rhodes, Wrens ; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeff and Fannie Sheppard; brothers Cleon and Harold Sheppard and Clark Harden.
