CHINA GROVE, N.C. - E.W. "Doug" Cook, 62, died Thursday. Born in Iredell Co., he was a veteran of the US Army and retired as a conductor for Norfolk-Southern. Survivors: wife, Frances Lowery Cook; son, Harry Wayne Cook (Lee Ann); brother, Gary Lynn Cook; sister, Judy Shumaker. A memorial service will be 3 pm, Sunday at Northcrest Chapel of Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. Visitation: 2-3 pm, Sunday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove.
