KITE, Ga. - Funeral services for Ms. Sarah Belle Fortner, age 94, will be held at 3:00 Sunday at the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Kite City Cemetery. Elder Tommy McGee and Rev. Burton Dixon will officiate. Ms. Fortner was born March 2, 1914 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late W.S. Kight, Sr. and Trudie Belle Rowland Kight. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late R.T. Fortner and 2 brothers, W.S. Kight, Jr. and Fred Kight. She was retired as a supervisor from Apparel Craft, Industries after 30 years of service and was a member of Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church. Ms. Fortner passed away Friday morning, October 10, 2008, following an extended illness. She is survived by her sister, Geneva (Louie) Rowland of Kite, 2 nieces, Sandra (David) Fields and Karen (Mel) Ott and a nephew, Freddy Ross Kight. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Saturday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chris Fields, Nick Lawhorn, Guy Fortner, Wayne Ward, Dean Davis and Mickey Garnto.
