William Glenn Story (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest October 8, 2008, at Trinity Hospital, Mr. William Glenn Story, Sr., 87, husband of Martha B. Story. Mr. Story was a native of Mitchell, GA and had resided in Augusta for the past 59 years. He was A WWII Army Veteran who served in the European Theatre and a retired welder/pipe fitter. Mr. Story was a member of the Gibson Masonic Lodge and a member of Bayvale Baptist Church, where he was a deacon Emeritus. Family members in addition to his wife include his sons and daughter- in-law: William G. Story, Jr. of Augusta, Ray and Rhetta Story of Martinez; daughter and son-in-law: June S. and Earl Collins of Augusta; sisters: Johnnie Walden of Bartow, Malene Padgett of Avera, Frankie Johnson of Martinez, Vivian Braddock of Gibson, Joyce Smith of Hephzibah, Glenda Padgett of Avera; and grandchildren: Tyler Story and Jonah Story, both of Martinez. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Charlie Deloach officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith Williford, Don Williford, Johnny Padgett, Jr., Charles Padgett, Kim Kitchens and William Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bayvale Baptist Church Deacons. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Bayvale Baptist Church, 2240 Bayvale Rd., Augusta, GA 30909.
