ELBERTON, Ga. - Mrs. Grace Cleveland Jones, age 88, of Elberton, died October 8, 2008. She was born in Elbert County to the late Worley C. Alexander and Maxie Sue Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Mr. James Cecil Jones, her brother Amos G. Alexander and sister Nora Shelton. Mrs. Jones was a lifetime member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughters Betty Deas of Elberton and Stella Gunn of Martinez; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her brother Roy W. Alexander of Elberton; her sisters Ruth A. Norman and Mary A. Wright, both of Augusta; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11th, 2:00 PM in the chapel of New Bethel United Methodist Church, with Reverend Albert Askew, Reverend Ed Sayer and Rev. Ben Wiles officiating. Interment to follow at New Bethel UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
