APPLING, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, October 6, 2008 at Doctors Hospital, Mr. Thomas Lee Luke of Tubman Road. Mr. Luke was a native of Columbia County, Georgia. He was baptized at an early age and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Thomas is resting in the arms of his father in heaven. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Solid Rock Baptist Church with Reverend Willie Williams officiating. Interment will be in Second Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors are a loving and devoted wife, Shirley Luke, Appling, GA; three daughters, Courtney Luke, Twin City, TX, Carla (Carlton) Holmes, Ft. Campbell, KY and Carmen Bennett, Appling; one son, Titus Luke, Appling; a loving mother, Carrie Bell Garnett, Augusta; step mother, Alice Garnett, Augusta; four sisters, Debra Stone, Augusta, Georgene Luke, Appling, Lorraine Luke and Sheila Garnett, of Augusta; one brother, Terry (Stephanie) Garnett, Atlanta, GA; three step sisters, Paula (James) Curry, Augusta, Pastor Angela (Howard) Harden, Atlanta, GA and Daphna Collier, Augusta; one step brother, Gerald Taylor, Augusta; three grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; five aunts, Pearl McCladdie and Anna B. Garnett, Augusta, Eva Marshall and Dorothy (George) McCladdie, Appling, Wilhemenia (Robert) Freeman, Appling; three uncles, Leonard Garnett and Vernon (Mary) Garnett, Augusta, and Horace (Dorothy) Luke, Evans, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
