AUGUSTA, Ga. - Funeral service for Sandra Gagnon Armstrong, 69, formerly of Columbia, S.C., will be private in Columbia. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia, is assisting the family. Mrs. Armstrong died Thursday, October 9, 2008. Born in Hillsboro County, N.H. and raised in Wilton, N.H., she was a daughter of Joseph Gagnon and the late Constance Burbee Gagnon. Surviving are her husband, Nolan L. Armstrong; her father of Colorado; daughters, Deborah Ann Newman of Sumter and Heather Parker of Augusta; brother, Joseph Gagnon of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Joanne Wirta of Contoocook, N.H.; and grandchildren, Gary Dixon, Sarah Dixon and Melissa Armstrong.
