Science, God, both point to life's start

  • Follow Letters

In his recent letter, Victor Reilly states that the answers to life "are more complicated than that." Knowing God's truth about life makes complicated answers become "more simple."

Pregnancy begins when a human sperm fertilizes a human ovum. Simultaneously, God infuses an immortal human soul into that embryo. The fetus derives one half of its genetic code from its mother and 50 percent from its father.

He/she is a separate person from the parents, with his or her own genes, unique DNA, distinct anatomy and physiology, individual personality and missions in life. He/she is neither the property of the mother nor the father. The mother nurtures the fetus in the womb until it is born, and for many years thereafter, but God's creation living within its mother's uterus is a separate creature from her body. He/she lives within the mother's uterus, deriving oxygen and nutrients from her across the placenta until it is mature enough to live independently of her.

The fetus is a full-fledged human being from the moment of conception, and is entitled to all of the guarantees of our Constitution -- namely life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, all of which are denied by abortion.

The Catholic Church has opposed in vitro fertilization and petri dish pregnancies since they were first introduced. The destruction of a human embryo to obtain embryonic stem cells is murder. Adult stem cells obtained without destroying human life are already showing much promise.

Scripture tells us that human life begins at conception (Jer. 1:5; Ps. 139:13-16, Luke 1:26-38, NIV). Science also tells us that human life begins at conception. Both of these sources give us true, simple answers to when human life begins.

Dr. Binet, I don't see how

Dr. Binet, I don't see how anyone could argue with your scientific and scriptural evidence, but some "jack-leg" liberal will try. Let's watch & see who the 1st "jack-leg" will be.

If you don't agree you're a

If you don't agree you're a "jack leg". Great debating style. !. Bible a book of faith, not a science book. ie earth 4,000 years old 2. the Jer and Ps verses were refering to Jeremiah being made a prophet. If you take them literally it would seem that life begins before conception since it spoke of God knowing him before he was in his mother's womb.3.Luke refers to Mary and the virgin birth, not exactly human conception. 4. at fertilization the distinct anatomy and physiology is a cell. 5. As I've posted before, there's disagreement on when the soul enters the body and life begins. In the Jewish faith (they tend to follow the Old Testament) it is at birth.6 If you are a person and have full constitutional rights at conception you should be able to vote at 17 years 3 months and drink at 20 years and 3 months. 7 Does the md believe that IUDs should be outlawed since they prevent implantation or is he against all forms of birth control?8. Once again someone trying to inject their faith on others. We are not a theocracy-yet.

Life begins at conception is

Life begins at conception is a biological and evolutionary fact, but some people don't have the intellect to understand such truths. Well of course liberals don't have the intellect to understand such truths. As I have said numerous times liberals lack intelligence and conservatives live by fear and the status quo. Rationalizing it isn't a legal person is just a capricious rationalization. Given the science in birth control is in many cases 98-100% efficient it seems cases of unwanted births should be extremely low. The problem is many people lack the intellect to use it properly so the prevention rate is lower (likely liberals hee, hee, hee). Perhaps it is good that people who are so stupid kill their offspring (ouch!).

A great LTE for those of us

A great LTE for those of us who believe in life. For those who believe women have the "right" to destroy this creation, then , then it is another wasted endeavor.

So anything that prevents the

So anything that prevents the sperm from fertilizing the egg prevents life? Well then birth control pills, condoms, morning after pills, vasectomies, and so on are all forms of abortion. Should they all be outlawed? They prevent the formation of life.

First and foremost, neither

First and foremost, neither of these people are doctors, they are quacks. Secondly, the forced pregnancy movement wants to redefine life so that they can allow the government to regain the control over women's bodies that they lost over 35 years earlier.

The Catholic Church is misogynist, and this misogynistic duo proves my April 18 LTE correct.

I would like the good Doctor

I would like the good Doctor to tell me, What branch of medicine deals with the "infusion of a immortal human soul by God"! If it is there, and medical science knows of it, then obviously they are studying it!!

If the sperm does not reach

If the sperm does not reach the egg, the formation has not begun..... Once the formation has begun, then it is not our right to take life. Anything you say doesn't justify murder!
