Beringer California Collection Chenin Blanc, 2007

COST: $7

WHAT: This is an easy sipping wine. Three of us drank a bottle quickly, without noticing how smooth and easy it was to drink. It is a refreshing wine with crisp citrus flavors mixed with melon and spicy ginger. At times you can detect pear and cantaloupe, with an underlying mineral quality. Chenin blanc is an underappreciated wine grown in the Loire Valley of France. Serve chilled.

GOES WITH: Beef ragout, roast pork, crab cakes, fried chicken, chicken tostadas, turkey burgers, or baked or roasted fish.
