WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Bacon Garbutt, age 70, beloved wife of the late Mr. William P. (Billy) Garbutt, Sr., of S. Norwood Street died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Warrenton Health & Rehab. Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Raytown Baptist Church, Taliaferro County with Revs. Arthur Gunn, Wade Palmer and Robert Riley officiating. Mrs. Garbutt, a native of Taliaferro County, GA had been a Warren County resident for many years, she was the daughter of the late Carl Elmo and Kathleen Mulkey Bacon and retired from the City of Warrenton as Financial Administrator. Mrs. Garbutt was an active member of the Raytown Baptist Church and served as church treasurer. Survivors include one son, Mitch (Angie) Garbutt; two grandchildren, Jessica Garbutt and Courtney Garbutt; two sisters, Mary Anne B. Quinn, and Linda B. Scott; one Brother Edmund (Janie) Bacon, three sisters-in-law, Eugenia G. Bellamy and Mary G. Stutts, and Clyde Garbutt; and several nieces and nephews. A son, William P. (Pat) Garbutt, Jr., preceded Mrs. Garbutt in death. Friends may call at the residence. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
