SAVANNAH, Ga. - J. Harold Mulherin, Jr. died peacefully at home on September 22, 2008. Harold was born in Augusta, Ga. March 10, 1929 and moved to Savannah as a child. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, was in the class of 1947 at Benedictine Military School and graduated from the University of Georgia. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He was well known for his love of the sea and fishing. He wishes to be remembered simply as a tarpon fisherman. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, John Harold Mulherin, Sr. and Margaret Mary Haslam Mulherin. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Page Oxnard Mulherin and his four children: John Harold Mulherin, III of Athens, Ga.; Thomas Oxnard Mulherin of Savannah; Ashley Mulherin Dollar (Rod) of Braselton, Ga.; and Louise Page Mulherin of Atlanta, Ga., and his two grandchildren, Margaret Abby Dollar and John Thomas Dollar of Braselton and his two sisters, Margaret Mary Mulherin Muller (Walter) and Jane Mulherin Lyons, all of Savannah and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 24th at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Thursday, September 25th at 11:00 a.m. with interment at the Catholic Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hibernian Society and the Benedictine class of 1947.
