Kristi Schlegel is the youth development agent in the Aiken 4-H office at the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service.

1. What was the initial incentive to publish a youth newsletter?

It is to our membership. It goes out to 4-H members and to 4-H alumni, and to various agencies and groups that have done programs with us. It's just essentially to keep better communication.

2. Who can apply to work on the newsletter?

4-H members and students are urged to apply and contribute. Kids ages 5 to 19 are eligible to join 4-H.

3. What will be in the newsletter?

The newsletter will represent all 4-H projects and activities. Information about activities, events, contests, clubs and accomplishments will be included in the newsletter, which will be available online and by hard copy.

4. What will be the duties of those involved in the newsletter?

Youths interested in working on the 4-H newsletter will take pictures, write articles and distribute to other youths.

5. How often will the newsletter be published?

We had done one every other month, but it kind of dropped off. So now we're going to try a monthly newsletter, and it will be available by hard copy and through e-mail.
