Augusta act Language Arts won the seventh annual Augusta Chronicle Singer-Songwriter contest Friday night at the Arts in the Heart of Augusta festival. Carey Murdock placed second and Ship of Fools came in third. Nearly 2,500 votes were cast by readers for 45 separate acts, with the top three and three critic's picks making the Friday night finals. Ryan Gay, Velocity, and Wade and Erin Teston also competed.
