Only one constitutionalist running

  • Follow Letters

In the 109th Congress, Sen. John McCain was the primary sponsor of S. 103, deceptively called the "Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act," which was recognized by concerned Americans as a bill pushing amnesty for illegal aliens and overwhelmingly rejected through a flood of calls to Washington.

Co-sponsors of the bill include Sens. Lindsey Graham, Edward Kennedy, John Kerry, Joseph Lieberman and Barack Obama.

Where presidential candidates stand on the issue of immigration and border control reveals their stand on the Constitution, the rule of law regarding illegal aliens and the sovereignty of this nation. John McCain's stand on immigration is not even in keeping with the 2008 Republican Party's platform (Platform.GOP.com)!

NumbersUSA's Roy Beck has assessed the presidential candidates on immigration issues (BetterImmigration.com) and found that only the Constitution Party's nominee, Chuck Baldwin, scored "excellent" on every graded category.

Another analysis of the issues (OnTheIssues.org) states, "Chuck Baldwin points to the immigration issue as evidence that the positions of the Republican and Democratic parties are essentially identical."

The only true "change" that will come to Washington is through the only true constitutionalist running for president.

To preserve American values and the U.S. Constitution, vote Chuck Baldwin on November 4.

You must be kidding? If i am gonna vote it will be at least for a candidate that has a chance in the election.

dhd1108

not me. I'm voting for the candidate who truly represents the values and ideals i hold dear. i honestly dont understand you guys who vote republicrat, demolican, just so "the other guys" don't win. Yup. Bob Barr is the guy for me. Vote 'Stache-2008

christian134

My word people vote for the best man or woman that will seek to lift this country up morally and having the welfare of all in mind...Just don't vote for a person that will become the next President of this great nation that has not one able bone in his body except to say "present" and(my words) "let me get back to you after I consult Biden"...At least McCain has the abilities of a leader who wants the best of both parties to make up the Congress fairly, introduce and/or dissolve policies that are not conducive for the new growth in this climate of economic downturn by a return of companies and jobs to this country...It is going to take God at the helm and morally upright men and women to anchor this nation down firmly on the seas of unrest...Liberals who want nothing more than to line up the masses for just enough to keep them in line absolutely do not need anymore blinded loyalty...Your families, your moms and dads, brothers and sisters and this great nation deserves better than those who seek to keep us all in an ignorant state of mind "whatever makes me feel good at the moment I will support" mentality....Obama does not run to serve his country he runs so the masses will serve him..

It's a shame that our choices, at least the two major ones, are so bad that we feel we have to vote for one bad one over the other so that the worst one doesn't get elected. I, too, would vote for Baldwin or write in Paul, but I won't because I will not stand by and see another 4 years of the Bush administration in office. I am having to vote against my morals, I'm against abortion and gay rights, just to keep the man who "helped invent the blackberry" out of office. Obama isn't the best, by far, but at least he's not running on a platform of blatant lies and corruption. Take on big money? I think not. He voted in 99 for the deregulation that has directly put us in the financial mess we're in today. By the way, HOORAY!! Polls are showing that the public, including Chuck Hagel, republican, is getting over it's infatuation with Palin, is starting to see and publicly state "she's not qualified to hold the office" Just think if they were to be elected, we'd have a philanderer, McCain, an addict, his wife and, God forbid, a fundamentalist hockey mom in the White House. That would truly be a sad day for this country.

GACopperhead

By the way, I'm not anti- Christian, I am Orthodox(founded 54AD, the oldest Christian religion), I know this country to be one with Christians, not OF Christians. I don't want ANYONE out there teaching my kids their religion, except me, that is.

christian134

I really do not have a concern over what you believe or disbelieve except to hope you do believe in God and Jesus Christ and teach your children to stand up for God's teachings no matter what comes...To vote for someone of Obama's lack of character is not right and is sending a message that has long been played; that message is "is is okay as long as it doesn't affect me or mine" mentality...That is going to come back and bite you in the behind as we are now in the death throes of a generation who have become so desensitized to all that is good and decent in order to do whatever it takes to please them....

I4PUTT

Unfortunately there is not a strong relationship between most politicians and religion. Power corrupts. One of the reasons it is so difficult to establish a 3rd party is how do they ever get our votes? Once they do get enough votes to be elected what other politicians will support them, especially if it means going against their own powerful party. I have chosen the party whose platform most closely aligns with mine. I will proudly vote Republican on November 4th.

christian134

As I will 14PUTT voting Republican is the sanest course of action...Let us all just pray that God will allow this to happen and then we can begin the long process of healing this nation...

GACopperhead

Please put out facts that back your statements of "lack of character". There is proof that McCain is a philanderer, he's married to the woman with whom he had the affair, that Cindy McCain is an addict and a thief who suffered little consequences for her actions while the doctor who wrote her illegal prescriptions in an attempt to cover up the thefts lost his license to practice permanently. There is proof that Palin had to be admonished by a judge 3 separate times to quit harassing her ex brother-in-law which puts real and credible doubt on the veracity of her statements that she has done nothing wrong in Troopergate. McCain graduated 894th out of a class of 899, and Palin has a BS in Journalism. Obama graduated Magna cum Laude from Harvard with a Juris doctor in Constitutional Law, which alone, to me. indicates he knows more about government that the whole Republican Party which has done more to erode the protections to us afforded by the Constitution that Hitler could have done. Actually, historically, some of their actions mirror those of the Nazi party prior to WW2.

christian134

Read Obama's book it is filled with exaggerations, half-truths and down right lies...Furthermore his connections to nefarious underworld criminals should give pause to many on his character as well as his stance on abortion. Furthermore he hasn't one clue as to how to be a leader of this nation unless he has his plethora of writers and the likes of Biden and Kennedy's pulling the strings...Pretty much does it for me GACopperhead but quite frankly the evidence could be plastered to your forehead and you would still overlook and run to support this person...

convertedsoutherner

Do you really want NObama for next POTUS? Do you want a greedy, ultra-liberal, self-absorbed, do-nothing senator from the corrupt IL political machine? This man has no clue. It will be meeshell, my belle, running the White House. He is definitely no war hero and didn't serve his country. He has questionable "friends", including bomber ayers, that he surrounds himself with. He gets his financing for home from a convicted felon. He is for late term abortion. He cares nothing about our country because everything is about him. He says he wants troops home and tells Iraq foreign minister to delay drawdown of troops. He lies and changes his mind daily. His resume' is crumbling under scrutiny. The dims are a large part of our financial problems, happening now. You're voting for the man I've described above. NObama thanks you for being one of his followers.

convertedsoutherner

NObama/NObiden want to raise taxes. On their tax statements NObama gave $100 last yr. NObiden gave $1000 last yr and $3000 in 9 yrs. I guess it is the other tax payers that they want to raise taxes on and not themselves. They say they will only tax the achievers because they want to give to the under-achievers (wealth envy) and you should enjoy giving so you can be patriotic. These people are less than credible.

imdstuf

The Republican Party is just a continued name. Their actions show they do not have the values they speak of any more..not that some in the past did either..but its getting worse.

The dims have been in charge of congress for the past 2 yrs and look what has happened. Just think of what they can do to the country, if they are given 4 yrs to be in charge. "CHANGE" that NOobama wants, doesn't mean it will be "CHANGE" for the best of ALL the people.

convertedsoutherner

We've had the dims "CHANGE" for the past 2 yrs. Are you doing better since they have been in charge? I doubt it.

GACopperhead

As opposed to the Republicans who CLAIM Christianity while failing to adhere to the the Christian principle of charity, love and TRUTH? You are dern tootin. You cannot claim to be a Christian while REFUSING to help the poor. You cannot claim Christianity while adhireing to the LIES of the Republican party. John McCain has voted FOR the bill that deregulated the banks and is responsible for the risky practices that have caused this economic breakdown, while voting AGAINST a bill that would have given honorable benefits to those who have served in the military. I am talking to a lot of people who are on the fence, and the more that goes on, the more they are leaning towards Obama. I've looked at McCain's voting record, and the only thing I can say good about him is that he didn't take earmarks. That legitimizes HIS claim (not Palin's). His choice of Palin totally proves his lack of judgment in picking people for his administration. His votes in Congress for deregulation proves his lack of knowledge of economics, and has insured that the American taxpayers will have to pay for his mistakes, not the government.

GACopperhead

Converted, you state that democrats have had control of Congress. This is basically in name only, as with a one vote majority in the Senate( If Leiberman counts) they can't get anything past the Republicans. Your argument, or criticism more accurately, is moot. This will change after the election. One other thing..I had a relatively wealthy lifestyle until around 97, and thankfully God gave me my comeuppance by putting me in a position to look honestly at what my Republican attitudes of "wealthy first, I don't care if you starve, just don't take mine from me" really showed. I believe God takes an active hand in and on my life, and He has shown me that we are not to "lay up treasures on earth, but as Christ told the rich man....sell all you have, give the money to the poor and come, follow me". For every basis you can give for you lack of Christian charity,ie the Republican agenda, I can quote Scripture to you that proves my, and GOD's point. I am against abortion, but it cannot be my sole reason to vote, especially since those who back the pro-life stance, are woefully reticent to offer help to the ones who are alive, rather than having been aborted.

convertedsoutherner

Your dims voted to not have any oversight over Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and barney frank said we don't need any oversight as the dims took millions from these companies. Well you can't look at NObama's record because he usually votes present. Sorry you don't like Sarah. We do and think she will do a good job as VP. She certainly has more experience than who you want to be POTUS. NObama can't even talk without his teleprompter, when does you get uh, uh, uh. Is he going to have his teleprompter when talks with foreign leader or has to make an important decision? McCain/Palin will be good for our country and we are proud and happy with our candidates. The NObama resume' is thin at best and is falling apart.

GACopperhead

I truly believe if VIABLE alternatives and assistance is give to those who are making a decision whether or not to abort a child, if more PARENTS are involved in their children's lives, and society takes back it's responsibilities rather than abdicate them to the government, eventually, the need for abortions would end. God gives all the choice of following Him or not, rather than FORCE it on others. This is what the fundamentalist right is trying to accomplish. I have come to see Christian fundamentalism as being no better than Islamic fundamentalism....absolutely the extreme and are as far away from the principles the religions stand for as can possibly be.

GACopperhead

McCain voted for the bill that deregulated the banks. McCain voted AGAINST better benefits for our servicemen. McCain was almost at the bottom of his graduating class, while Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude for Harvard in CONSTITUTIONAL LAW. Palin has a degree in journalism and can "see" Russia. You say they're more qualified? It is to laugh.....HA!

GACopperhead

To be honest, I tire of debating with unarmed opponents. I will follow Christ's teaching and refrain from foolish controversies and genealogies and and cast not my pearls before swine (this is figurative, not literal, if any of you actually know the difference) This has gotten way to personal for me. I will vote for Obama, will try to convince the undecided to do so also. Good bye to you all.

convertedsoutherner

I would imagine that you know some college educated idiots that have absolutely no common sense. Do we want the candidates that can make decisions with knowledge and understanding, have dealt with pressure or do we want a POTUS that has no clue and will have to look it up in a book and can't talk without a teleprompter. Where is your candidate NObiden? Please don't forget this 35yr senator loose cannon with a brother and son that are lobbyists and under indictment. Do we want a commander-in-chief that tells a foreign minister one thing and his blind/gullible followers another story? Do we want a leader that tells the spanish speaking, in 4 states, lies? Do we want the dims in charge after what they have done in the past 2 yrs? The dims are the ones that have been in charge these past 2 yrs and you want to give them 4 more yrs. Our country will definitely be in trouble with 4 more yrs like the past 2yrs.

Number One... Republican and Democratic parties are not the same. Look at the issues of abortion, homosexual marriage, the war in Iraq, education, foreign affairs, the economy, etc. Republicans and Democrats, or I suppose I should say conservatives and liberals, are not the same.
Secondly, it is foolish to believe that a candidate outside of the Republican and Democratic parties will win this election. I have read some things on Chuck Baldwin and I think he seems like a good guy and I have agreed with everything that I have read about him believing in, etc. However, I know that an independant, etc will not win this election. Election time is not the point where we should be fighting for an equal playing field for all candidates. I do think that we should abolish our two-party system and just vote on the issues. However, I don't think that election time is a time for making that case. Why? Because quite honestly I think that only conservatives are going to vote for Baldwin. Liberals do not agree with his politics. The people that vote for Baldwin are people who likely would've voted McCain because he is certainly farther right than Obama (the most liberal Senator in America).

lnd87

The fact of the matter is, our next President will either be Barack Obama or John McCain. Chuck Baldwin or anyone else won't even come close. It is just too late in the game to be trying to rally votes for someone other than McCain or Obama. Try to change government and not be a two-party system by all means, but don't do it at election time because a vote for Baldwin is a vote against John McCain and I think that he is this country's best chance.

lnd87

Education is not the only thing that makes for a great President. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln never went to college. They were great Presidents. Education, the school that you went to, and where you graduated in your class mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I'll take common sense, morality, good judgement, and honorable intentions before a Harvard education anyday.

convertedsoutherner

If you want more of the same as the past 2 yrs (with dims in charge), vote for NObama/NObiden. They continue to show just how bad they can handle things.

youknowit

If you want more DEAD soldiers and higher gas prices....VOTE for MCCAIN and that mistress of his..

jillpeterson

george washington and abraham lincoln may not have gone to college, but i wouldn't call them uneducated.

convertedsoutherner

Remember the gas prices have risen under your dims. Thank you for showing just how blind, gullible and just who the NObama followers are.
