NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, Mrs. Helen T. Gunter, 84, of North Augusta, SC. Surviving is a son, Lester Huette Gunter (Barbara Faye), Edgefield, SC; three daughters, Carolyn Carter (Mitchell), Trudy McElhaney (Mike), all of Burnettown, SC and Ann Baker (Fred), Aiken, SC; three brothers, Furman Lowe, Gloverville, SC, Melvin Lowe, Clearwater, SC and Ronell Lowe, Gloverville, SC; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gunter was born in Aiken County, SC to the late Elzie and Lizzie Beard Lowe. She was a retired secretary for Nationwide Insurance and a charter member of Lakeside Baptist Church for 54 years and it's Joy Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be on Friday at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church with Pastor Tad Marshall, Rev. Bill Reese and Rev. John George officiating. Mrs. Gunter will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Julian Farmer, John Sanders, Skip Atkinson, Tim Carlton, Jerry Rucker and Raymond Toole. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joy Sunday School Class.
