Eliza E. Tompkins (BEECH ISLAND, S.C.)

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mrs. Eliza E. Tompkins, 94, of Old Storm Branch Road, entered into rest September 16, 2008 at her residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mrs. Tompkins, a native of Toombs County, Ga., was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Survivors include two daughters, Leatrice (Thomas) Snowden, Philadelphia, Pa., and Oliva Stephens, Puyallap, Washington; six sons, Linzie (Beatrice) Tompkins, Manhattan, N.Y., Leverne (Rudell) Thompkins, Severna, Md., Leon Thompkins, Indianapolis, Ind., Samuel (Anita) Thompkins, Upper Marlboro, Md., Bernard (Mary) Tompkins, Beech Island, S.C., and Arnold (Frances) Tompkins, North Augusta, S.C.; sister-in-law, Nevela (Felton) Price, McCormick, S.C.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
