SCIENCE
The Armoured Mistfrog, which hadn't been seen since 1991, was presumed extinct by most researchers after the chytrid fungus decimated frog populations worldwide in the late 1980s and early '90s. But a doctoral student in Australia researching another frog species discovered several of the 1.5-inch long Armoured Mistfrogs in a creek.

TEEN POLICY
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety wants states to raise the driving age from 16 to 17 or 18 years old. The research group, funded by the auto insurance industry, cites that car crashes are the leading cause of death for teens, the Associated Press reported. In New Jersey, the driving age is 17, and the rate of teens killed in crashes is lower than nearby states. One argument against raising the age is the disadvantage of teens' reliance on parents to chauffeur them.
