AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, September 11, 2008 at University Hospital, Mrs. Thelma Rea "Mudear" Freeman of Shadowood Drive, the daughter of the late Thomas and Eva Mae Williams, Sr. was born October 10, 1033 in Richmond County. Thelma received her early education in Richmond County; she graduated in the first graduating class of Lucy C. Laney High School in 1950. She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary, where she served on the October Birthmonth Fellowship Group, Partners for Progress, NBTU- Church-In-Training, China Christmas Banquet Ministry, Sanctuary Choir, E.A. Moss Gospel Choir and Singles Ministry. Thelma retired in 1999 from the Fort Gordon Commissary after 20 years of service. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 12:00 noon from Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1260 Wrightsboro Road with Reverend Clyde Hill, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors are four devoted daughters, Yvonne (Butler) Johnson, Alaughn Freeman, Veronica Sistrunk and Valerie Freeman; one loving brother, Thomas J. Williams, Jr.; four loving grandchildren, Karmelita Freeman, Nicole (Miles) Murdaugh, Bernard Nunnally and Robyn Johnson; one great granddaughter, Maisie Murdaugh; one aunt, Allie B. Jones, all of Augusta; one brother-in-law, Freddie (Brenda) Freeman, Charlotte, NC; she also leaves an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, god children and close friends.
