Remeber, "god rides a Harley." Can't be all bad.

Obviously, pofwe does not understand the concept of a biker ministry. It reaches out to those who feel they have been forgotten or might be unwanted in a typical church setting because they have tattoos, wear leather and sometimes even...smoke! This church reaches out and says "We love you BECAUSE of who you are, not in spite of it". I don't see how a once a year event should overshadow the other 364 days of the year when these bikers donate to those in need, participate in local fundraisers, perform outreach ministries in prisons (where many are afraid to go), and generally spread the Good Word to those who might not normally be reached. This ministry is changing the outlook of an entire community, bikers and non bikers, that EVERYONE is a part of the Lord's family, even if you ride a big, loud bike or (gulp) a scooter! Shame on you for saying they are not worshiping the Lord because of the vehicle they choose to drive. Perhaps you should ask many of those around you if they ride, you might be surprised to find your local doctor, entrepreneur, delivery driver, postal worker just might ride. Come to the service next year to see for yourself, bikers know how to worship....the Lord!

The Driven By The Spirit Biker Ministry was started by Pastor Scott Ostendorph of MVFCN. So, pofwe - I personally invite you to attend next years event (2nd Sunday in Sept) and you will see how bikers (Christian and non-believes) come together to worship and learn about Christ. In fact, the MVFCN has videos of past biker sundays and will be glad to provide these to you in case you can't wait until next year. The Driven By The Spirit Biker Ministry does a lot of good in the area. They visit the sick, build wheelchair ramps for injured bikers (no cost), handle funeral services, and any other needs of the Biker Community. We ride our bikes and wear our Church Clothes (Jeans/t-shirts/leathers) to Church. Please come see for yourself! Sunday morning at 9:00 or 10:45.

pofwe probably wouldn't have spoken to the woman at the well either.

Anyone who doesn't feel they can go to church because they ride a motorcycle is out of touch. So do they just go once a year because they can ride their bikes? Warrior Mom, you said that I said, "they are not worshiping the Lord because ..." I simply posed the question, "who ya'll worshipping God or bikes? " Your answer is as flawed as your concept of Christanity. I don't give a rip who rides a bike where or why, but to say riding a motorcycle to church once a year is some kind of a ministry is well ... foolishness, in my humble opinion. May God Bless you & only one man kiss you, (at the time).

Earth to 426Hemi, God don't ride motorcycles, he borrows my Hummer. Peace-Out, ;-)

MVNC non-biker

Dear pofwe: No one said riding a bike to church once a year was "some kind of a ministry." It's a celebration of a ministry that goes on all year long. Please read the other comments to see just a small portion of what good the group does. They don't build ramps--or put up a new roof--just for other bikers; they help out wherever there's a need.

And again, a biker tries to do good and is bashed simply because he rides. Maybe every one should ask their doctor/lawyer/accountant and yes, even pastors, to remove their crisp starched white shirt on Monday morning to check for tattoes. It may surprise a lot of you.

What pofwe doesn't understand is that true bikers don't care what the average citizen thinks. Caring about what God thinks IS important, though. He's the only One that matters. Everything else follows after that.

It's really about fellowship among riders. They just don't meet once a year. I have been to functions that they attend like bike night at the Sno-Cap. It's a way for them to increase the membership of their church and spread the word. I see no harm in that at all. It's one of our freedoms. I'd much rather see a church do that than to knock on my door at 8am on a saturday morning.
