Richard J. Foreman (JACKSON, S.C.)

JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mr. Richard J. Foreman, Sr., 90, of Foreman Road, Jackson, SC who entered into rest September 12, 2008 will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Matlock Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Riser officiating. Interment in Sunset Memory Gardens with Masonic Rites. Mr. Foreman was a life-long resident of the Jackson-Beech Island area and was a member of Matlock Baptist Church. He was the founding owner of the R.J. Foreman Trucking Company, a former director of First State Bank, past president of Silverton Agriculture Club, past president Jackson Lions Club, an honorary member of the Hephzibah Agriculture Club and the Hephzibah Fellowship Club, a former member of the Jackson School Board and the Aiken County Planning and Development Board. Mr. Foreman was the recipient of the Augusta Jaycees Boss of the Year Award. He was a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge #127 AFM and was a Shriner. Mr. Foreman was husband of the late Claudine Bentley Foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simkins and Gertrude Foreman and his brother, Clinton S. Foreman. Survivors include his wife of 16 years Gail C. Foreman; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Judy Foreman, Beech Island; one daughter, Gertie F. McElmurray, Jackson; two step sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Susan Folk, North Augusta and Rick and Anne Folk, North Augusta; two step daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Steven Budd, North Augusta and Stacy and Keith Windsor, Mooresville, NC; one sister, Elizabeth R. Sims, Orangeburg, SC; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard J. Foreman III, Matthew G. Foreman, Barney G. Hicks, Shawn T. Folk, Brett A. McRae, Matthew R. Windsor and Tyson H. Waddell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening from 7 to 9. Memorials may be made to the Matlock Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
