BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. Dave Wright, Jr., 87, of Horse Creek Road., entered into rest September 11, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry W. Freeman officiating. Interment will be in St. Phillip Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Wright, a native of Aiken County. He sang quartet with the Kings of Harmony, Flying Clouds and the original Abraham Brothers. He was a member of St. Phillip Baptist Church where he served on the deacons ministry and sang in the senior choir. He was known for singing 'This Old Clock On The Wall Keep On Ticking My Life Away.' Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Rosa Lee Thomas Wright; a daughter, Mary (Johnny) Sims; seven sons, Lindsey (Mary Lee) Wright, Willie Lee Wright, Alonzo (Shirley) Wright, Roosevelt (Overseer Melinda) Wright, David (Maxine) Wright, Andrew Wright, and Fabian (Min. Janie) Wright, North Augusta, S.C.; two sisters, Linda Hill and Essie Turner; a brother, Eddie Lee Wright; sisters- in-law, Ida Mae Wright, Dorothy Wright, Mozelle Thomas, Mary Thomas, Lucille Thomas and Rosa Mae Cannon; a devoted cousin, Betty Jean Wade; 42 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
