When the leader of the Episcopal Church visits Georgia, she will stop to preach Sunday at Augusta's Church of the Good Shepherd.

Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori's three-day visit to the Diocese of Georgia began Friday with a meeting with clergy members in Savannah.

Today, she plans to field questions at two public forums in Savannah's St. Peter's Episcopal Church before traveling to Augusta for Sunday morning services at Good Shepherd, one of two churches she will worship at while visiting the diocese.

"It's been a long time since we've had a presiding bishop come," said the Rev. Robert Fain, the rector of the Walton Way church.

The church seats about 285 people, plus 200 more who can watch from the parish house over a closed-circuit television.
