Elect Bobby Saxon to Congress

I am appalled at Paul Broun's recent letter to his constituents in the 10th Congressional District. For him to even begin to suggest that it is the Democrats who are now trying to raise taxes is not only absurd, but far from the truth. ...

First and foremost, the Republicans were in control of Congress for six of the almost eight years now that George W. Bush has been in office. The main reason we now find our country in such a dismal quagmire is because of the out-of control spending that has gone on to finance the war in Iraq.

BrounÂhasn't even been in office for a full term, and is already on the Republican band wagon, blaming the Democrats, when he ought to be blaming his own party, because after all, many of these out-of-control spending measures were voted on and passed under a majority rule of the Republicans. ...

Well I have a solution. It is time to increase the majority, and we can start by electing Bobby Saxon for Congress and Jim Martin for the U.S. Senate, and vote for real change by electing Barack Obama in November.

Bobby Saxon has proudlyÂserved our country in the military, both in Afghanistan and twice in Iraq. He has realÂsolutions, not justÂrhetoric, at trying to help bring about real change for the good of our country!

Why would anyone in their right minds want another four years of the last eight?! This country is in the worstÂshape it has been since the Great Depression, and it is time to once again turn it around, and get us out of the mess that the Republicans have, once again, gotten us into! Our children and grandchildrenÂshould not have to be burdened, in the future,Âby the Republicans' reckless mistakes!

Gee Dan, I guess that 40 years Democrats owned congress, 1953 to 1993, and the past 2 years, and the subsequate social programs they rammed down our throats to buy votes means nothing. Yes, the war is bad, but these entitlement programs are what's breaking us. And, Nobama won't even bring up the subject as far as limiting or ending them. Democrats being linked to higher taxes is no more unfair than their linking Republicans with being out of step with "working people." Yeah, Ted Kennedy, Jay Rockefeller, those are some real working people. Open your eyes, Dan, there's plenty of blame for both parties to go around. Your Democratic Party isn't flying around on angels wings!

Broun was running against the Republicans before it became popular in the Republican party to run against themselves. He's a leader in that regard.

FAT Chance the 10th district will vote for a democrat.

Saxon served in the military - Afghanistan and Iraq? Since when did that become a qualification for government service among Democrats?

yak11

Its a qualification if they were a DEMOCRAT and condemned their own comrades....GEE don't you know that. For dems its only "VOTES for TURNCOATS"

I voted for Broun in the primaries and will again in November. As for our presidential candidates and out of control spending, McCain has NEVER voted for an earmark in all his years in the senate. Odrama voted against earmark reform last year! Dan should do his homework first.

Another history revisionist - democrats don't raise taxes, bush is the root of all evil. blah...blah...blah. The reality is the control of the senate has tussled very tightly between - neither party for even a simple majority vote - there's been no hope of overruling a veto - which is why you can't leave dems out of an assessment of the past 8 years - very often the voting block that passed legistlation was dems partnering with republicans - well if you want people who want to spend to vote with you - you have to agree to spend.
