Teen tells deputies someone shot her

A 17-year-old girl told police she was shot, then driven to Trinity Hospital by an unknown person Saturday afternoon.

The victim said she was walking to her car to use the phone when someone drove by and fired a shotgun -- striking her in the face and chest, according to a Richmond County Sheriff's Office report. A hospital supervisor said Sunday that the victim was no longer at the facility.

Man reports robbery on lower Broad Street

A man told police he was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night on Broad Street near Gordon Highway.

The victim said the robber demanded money, then pistol-whipped him in the face, according to a Richmond County Sheriff's Office report.

The attacker stole $15 and the victim's cell phone.

Richmond County

- The 900 block of Taylor Street in front of the Richmond County EMA Center will be closed Thursday as part of a visitation program.

- The 800 block of Reynolds Street will be closed from noon to midnight Friday for Border Bash.

Columbia County

- To ensure motorists' safety during a bridge demolition, the eastbound lane of Interstate 20 at the Lewiston Road overpass will close from 9 p.m. today until 5 a.m. Tuesday, according to the state Department of Transportation. Depending on the weather, there might be traffic shifts at the intersection of Sheraton Drive and Atomic Road. Crews will be building turn lanes and installing traffic signals .
