Obama is evasive on when life begins

  • Follow Letters

If Americans don't watch it, we are going to end up with an abomination for a president. Some have affectionately referred to it as an Obama Nation. Either way, you are going to ask yourself over the next four years, "Why did we let this happen?"

Barack Hussein Obama has zero leadership experience and has held no job to prove he can be the leader of our nation. When asked by the Rev. Rick Warren, at a recent debate between Obama and John McCain, about when life begins, Obama's response was that the answer was above his pay grade.

Another pay grade that is above Obama's is the president of the United States. So does that mean that if he becomes president, that he will miraculously know the answer? His response was so nebulous that he may need to shed some light on exactly what he meant. Try getting the mainstream media to ask him what he meant by his response the next time he is being swooned over by some of the brainless anchormen and women on our major networks.

We all know what his answer is, but he was afraid to state it in the conservative venue of the Rev. Warren's church. Obama is pro-choice. If he can't take the pressure of a simple question in Saddleback Church in California, how will he do in the White House when asked to make a decision on the economy, health care, foreign affairs or dealing with a terrorist attack on our nation?

Oh by the way, John McCain's answer to the question of when life begins? At conception. If McCain were asked the same question at a pro-choice rally, his answer would still be the same.

You decide.

Kelly W. Penton, Martinez

I'm surprised that people see

I'm surprised that people see the McCain - Palin ticket as change. They sure have started to talk up change, but if you look at little closer at their campaign, you'll see that their chief strategist is Steve Schmidt, a former Karl Rove protege, and campaign staffer from Bush's 2004 reelection. This seems to me like more of what we've had for the last 8 years than any real change. I just wonder if the public will fall for this sleight of hand, and I don't see how John McCain can say with a straight face that he and Steve Schmidt are all about change.

Because they all lie. That's

Because they all lie. That's what politicians do. That's why there is a law on the books that says they do not have to honor any campaign promises. It's all more of the same no matter which way you go. Just have to decide the lesser of 2 evils.

McCain/Palin have the

McCain/Palin have the advantage of having a record of making change and taking action.... B.Ho only has a record of talking about change. B.Ho has had a lot of help getting where he is today and is heavily in dept to the political establishment that supports him. McCain has demonstrated that he is willing to go against the grain when he believes in something and that strength of character makes him far more trustworthy than B.Ho.

There is nothing wrong with

There is nothing wrong with Barack Obama not being sure when life begins. Perhaps that is truly an honest answer. BUT since he is unsure, why does he then decide that it is okay to kill what MAY be alive? THAT is the problem with his stance. As Peggy Noonan has said, "Ronald Reagan used to say, in the early days of the abortion debate, when people would argue that the fetus may not really be a person, he'd say, "Well, if you come across a paper bag in the gutter and it seems something's in it and you don't know if it's alive, you don't kick it, do you?" No, you don't."

When Sarah Palin made light

When Sarah Palin made light of Barack Obama's experience as a "community organizer" some pointy head made the statement that Jesus Christ was also a community organizer. At least Jesus didn't go around acting like he was Barack Obama.

Obama doesn't care about the

Obama doesn't care about the beginning or ending of human life...When will you people understand this? He only care for himself and the fact that if his girls were to become pregnant that they could terminate the "fetus" and go on about their lives...That is the bottom line of this person's thinking which is the bottom line of many in this country...The absolute bottom line is that abortion is wrong in any sense of the word, in any form....The moment of conception, egg meets sperm, the baby is formed with a soul and as such only God has the right to take the child back home if He so chooses not mortal man... Contrary to the belief of many, Obama and others, do not possess the power to give life and take it away only God has that right as the Creator of All Life...

First of all none of you pro

First of all none of you pro life wannabes will be raising all these unwanted children, you turn your noses up at welfare recipients. Yet you want to force them to give birth, worry about your own household as you always do. Obamas children have nothing to do with this, and the statement about them was beyond ignorant. I bet not one of you have adopted or volunteerd to help any needy families. I believe in pro-choice, although it's not a choice I would make, the government has no right to tell me what to do with my body. Or haven't you noticed they have too much control over our personal lives as it is. Just another attemp to shoot down Obama, well Palin can't run her own household, how's she gonna help run a country.

You want to know something

You want to know something pantherluvcik if people would just keep there body parts to themselves instead of "just sexin" it all day long and all night long then the welfare recipients would not be so enormous...Also there is such a thing, strange notion to many, but nevertheless such a thing as responsibility...I had many children and hubby worked long hours sometimes two jobs to support us...We were poor but we were a family and my babies never went hungry...But that was the norm for men to work to support there own and not the anomaly as it seems to be nowadays....I stand by my statement that Abortion is Wrong...

Sen. Obama has a charasmatic

Sen. Obama has a charasmatic personality, too much ego for me. He also flips and flops just like his Republican opponents. Many of the fixes he says he will provide are already being developed by businesses, i.e. alternative fuels. And, too, many of his promises are not within the venue of government to fix, i.e. control of health care costs. We have a free market system, and we would need to become a socialist nation under Sen. Obama to cause the things he says he will do. He is an ulta Liberal. I don't think an ultra Liberal would make for a good president. Taxes must go up under Socialism to pay for all those government services. McCain by himself won't work, either. However, McCain and Palin together would be a more reasonable presidential team, as I see it.

Unpublished

Yes, if government documentation of age was revised to reflect the truth, it would be advantageous. Little brats would be off to school nine months earlier, they could hit the highways sooner, welfare recipients could vote nearly a year earlier, soldiers could enjoy a legal beer as they sharpened their bayonets, and the worn-outs could draw their pensions and social security much earlier. And, no, PT, if I want to watch aliens, I use NetFlix. Illegal downloads take forevvvver on dial-up. Maybe I can just borrow yours?

In all the elections I have

In all the elections I have witnessed, abortion is always thrown up as a distraction to everyday problems that everyone faces. Yet not one republican president has ever done anything about it. Even loading the Supreme Court with conservatives hasn't done anything about it. The reason is that the majority of the country doesn't want abortion to return to back alleys and coat hangers, which will happen if abortion is banned. God will be the ultimate judge. I believe for most people that to have an abortion must be a gut-wrenching decision to make, and an extremely personal one. The right, whether intentionally or not, uses this as a wedge issue that ultimately has nothing to do with the way the country is run. JesusIsComing, where in the world do you come up with a statement like "why does he (Obama) decide that it is okay to kill what may be alive?" In Obama's acceptance speech, he clearly said that while we can't agree as a nation on the subject of abortion, at least we can all agree that efforts must be made to reduce the need for it. That to me says a lot. It's a decision between the person having one and God, not the government. None of us has the right to judge the other.

Note Obama didn't say he was

Note Obama didn't say he was ignorant of when life begins but just he wasn't going to answer the question. Everyone already knows he is liberal prochoice. More african americans contract and die from AIDS than any other group. The AIDS epidemic among African-Americans in some parts of the United States is as severe as in parts of Africa. STDs are an epidemic amongst young black Americans. Roe vs Wade has contributed to this because the mentality is there is no need for protection because you can have an abortion. The teenage pregnancy rate amongst african-americans is high and 63% of blacks are unwed mother, which statistically most will end up on welfare. I believe Obama knows these facts but wishes ill on the black race and also wants a large welfare population for his socialist revolution. hee, hee, hee. See how you can use real facts to make original arguments.

See....I didn't get past the

See....I didn't get past the first sentence of pantherluvcik's entry and I'm already angry. Pro life wannabes????? No, we don't "wannabe" we ARE pro life advocates! Then his next stoopid remark is "unwanted children". That's like saying unwanted garbage. Does "unwanted children" apply when the child is, let's say about 3 or 4 years old, or maybe a teenager, is it ok to kill them then, coz they're "unwanted"? I can see someone not wanting children in their lives at some time, but if this is how you feel, you don't get pregnant. Once you've created life, killing it is NOT the answer. Don't you pro choice people get that? It's MURDER! People who have late term abortions in particular, are no better than a Ted Bundy or a Jeffrey Dahmer, in my view, the only difference being the age of their poor innocent victims! Panther, I'm glad you're not one of those "unwanted children" you speak about, or YOU wouldn't be here making inane remarks!

pantherluv, Where are the

pantherluv, Where are the great liberal Crisis Pregnancy Centers that help women who do not want to kill their babies? These programs help these mothers plan for what is best for their child - to include arranging for adoption when that is desired. Christians all over the world are the ones who DO step forward to help those struggling - they talk the talk AND walk the walk. When you can identify a liberal organization that compares to that record of service - write back. The tired old rhetoric of the left is getting very old!
