The letter written by Lowell Greenbaum ("Choice of Sarah Palin is truly appalling," Sept. 5) is in fact much more appalling than the nomination of Palin as vice president.
When you compare Sara Palin to Barack Hussien Obama, here's what you find. Palin was a city council member, mayor and now governor of Alaska. Obama was an organizer in the Chicago slums, a state senator and now a U.S. senator. Actually, Palin has more executive experience to be president than Obama.
Palin fought corruption and won. Obama joined corruption in Chicago, getting millions of dollars in grants for his friend Tony Rezko. While Palin would fight terrorism, Obama befriended terrorist William Ayers, who bombed our Capitol and numerous banks in the 1960s. Palin would fight communism, while Obama admits, in his book, that his childhood mentor was a communist named Frank Davis. There is also Obama's adult mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who for 20 years has preached racism, bigotry and a hatred of America to Obama and his family.
While Palin has no military service, I defy Mr. Greenbaum to tell us what branch of the service Obama served in. And, when it comes to looking Vladimir Putin in the eye, I'd rather it was the "barracuda" than the "capitulator."
In the final analysis, Mr. Greenbaum is right-- Palin is no Hillary Clinton. She's much better, and as far as Obama is concerned, the only thing he is qualified to run is his mouth.

I defy the McCain backerss to go to politfact.com and look at a nonpartisan evaluation of the statements made by Republicans and Dems about each other. You will find that by a greater percentage, the Republicans are telling half-truths and bald-faced LIES about Obama and the Dem platform. It's obvious to me that they are running scared. I have always been and voted Republican, until Bush's second run, but have and WILL vote against lies, corruption and poor military and economic judgment. Who out there is better off thanks to Bush....people losing jobs, 6.1% unemployment, losing homes thanks to the Republicans winking and nodding at the mortgage companies because they were able to say that more people could buy homes thanks to their economic policies. More taxes because of Dems? I recall that the last big tax increase was thanks to George H.W. Bush..."Read my lips".....
I liked your letter in rebuttal of Mr. Greenbaum... Thank you, Suh!!!
By the way....according to politifact.com, Ms. Palin has more "executive" experience that the rest of the candidate put together.....6 whole years....a true leader......yeah, right. You can't get change unless you vote for something different, and voting with Bush 90% of the time isn't being a maverick.
hey copperhead..you believe everything you read on the internet?????
Karma, I look at a lot of things, because I feel it's my responsibility to be INTELLIGENT in my decisions in using my vote. I care about my country, not a political PARTY. Politifact is nonpartisan, and puts up FACTS to prove it's points. It rates both parties and spares no one. Look at it! I think you might see what I'm saying. People. quit looking blindly, look at both sides with an open eye. Our country is really worth that much.
GACopperhead, your blogs prove not all idiots are in Washington!
Wow Grouse. Very informative page at Snopes. That must be one of the 20% that don't approve of her work as Governor. But that doesn't outweigh the 80% APPROVAL rating! Ehhht! Thanks for playing!
FD, ROTFLMAO at your 6:30am post.
Hell if you gave everyone in the country $3500.00 back every year, Bush might have a 90% approval rating. All she did was buy their approval.
Experience? All the talk is about experience but how much of a deciding factor is "experience" when it comes time to cast a vote? What about "Ideology" and "character" of the candidate? How many people really care about experience if they agree with a candidate's ideology and trust that the candidate has the character to be true to those principles. Can you trust B.Ho who has close ties to radical terrorist and racists? Can you trust McCain who spent five and a half years as a POW and refused to accept freedom when it meant dishonor. McCain may have a caustic personality at times but no other candidate has demonstrated courage and character the way he has. Obama doesn't make a pimple on a good man's butt.
Hypocrite - You must not know much about the Alaskan tax base. All residents of Alaska have been getting money rebated that is taken in as taxes for as long as I can remember. They haven't paid income tax, like forever, but get a rebate every year from the taxes brought in from big business - specifically the energy business. So she could have kept the state jet and the Mansion cook and other high cost items that aren't needed and lowered the rebate that residents got but she didn't. You know why? Because she believes the people's money belongs to them not to big government.
Gosh, the boys are getting scared--wonder why?
Mr. Seaha, Great letter. Good contrasts, good facts, and, as you can see from the responses, you hit 'em where it hurts!
For me and my house, we will vote for Sarah! (I mean McCain/Sarah)! :) Breath of fresh air, I say.
Palin as VP has completely changed the political equaaion. The majority of the comparisons being made right now are not between McCain and B.Ho and between Palin and Biden. Since Palin's speech at the RNC converntion the comparisons have been between Palin and B.Ho. In a way Palin has upstaged McCain and Biden is being completely ignored. Democrats have good reason to be worried.
If I remember Hilliary is the one all you Democrats said was unstoppable and would definitely be the next president. You said Hilliary was 1/2 of the most powerful family in politics. You said that with the support of your most popular former president, Bill, she couldn't lose. Hilliary is also the one who said Obama was not ready for the presidency. Hilliary was the one who first said Obama had no experience. Hilliary was the one who first asked how Obama would pay for all of his new programs. And, wasn't Hilliary the one who was not even considered for the VP spot? You are right. Palin is no Hilliary.
Right...the day after Palin was announced, Obama raised 10 million dollars. I'm not a Dem, I'm a Republican, and as soon as a Republican who is for REAL change, not 90% of Bush, ie Ron Paul, is nominated, I will vote Republican again. Until someone who is NOT in the Party and big money bag is nominated, I will vote Dem. Following Bush and the Republican "more for the wealthy" mantra 90% of the time is no change at all.
Sara Palin gives America real hope & something to belief in, not just a bunch of hot air! Being a governor holds a lot of responsibility and I think America will prove on Nov 4th that they are actually confident in her abilities to lead, being that she has a proven record. Barak cannot say the same, but only to say that he was present for hundreds of opportunities to vote but could not make up his mind, or maybe he did make up his mind but could not answer in fear of looking bad, or actually it could have been above his pay grade?
It is interesting that Conservatives are trying to spin that Palin has more experience than Obama & Biden put together. Palin has absolutely NO immigration experience, NO free trade experience, and has never dispatched the National Guard to remove a moose from the roadway. US Senators discuss and negotiate these critical issues everyday. It should not take a rocket scientist to see through Conservative lies and spins. I respect McCain's approach to discussing his differences, he needs to coach Palin about not making a fool of herself with things she can't prove. BTW, where are are the parents of the kid Palin's daughter is suppose to marry? It just seems strange the only opinion about this teen pregnancy are the Palin's. My 17 y/o son would not be forced to marry any for someone else's political gain. The young man stated on his MySpace site that he does not want kids....But during the Convention the Palin's stated the kids were going to get married. Something just does not fit....I honestly believe the young man is being railroaded to to reduce to scrutinity on Palin's daughter.
No spin parker, If it's is spin counter it with fact and not your usual line of BS! Oh, you can't??????? HMM, thought so, go back to bed.
cparker - First the boy is 18 and maybe his parents weren't at the convention because they are democrats. And if he comes from a Dem family and is a Dem himself I guess you could say that the Dems finally came out in the open and showed their true desire to screw anybody else.
I'm sorry, I can admit a mistake unlike some. You were right the boy is 17.
When our forefathers set up the Electoral College Voting system, they did so because it scared the hell out of them to think about giving citizens the power to elect a President to run this country. They felt the public did not have the right education nor the common sense to bestow such an important decision upon them. All my life I have thought this to be true & on the other hand I have allway thought that way back then in our history they did not have the common sense to do so but I felt that now our society has caught up with our forefathers wisdom & could vote responsable since we have become better educated & the vast network of news like television & the internet provide for us to get the facts we need to cast our vote. BUT NOW I realize it is still true AMERICA DOES NOT HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO VOTE RESPONSABLE. The majority of Americans vote soley on race or sex they don't look at who the person is...what they stand for... who they look up to as rolemodels....NONE OF THIS MATTERS...It's black or white, male or female. The majority of Americans are just as ignorant as they were 200 plus years ago..
But, if her daughter's pregnancy isn't an issue, why were they front and center with her belly showing AFTER the announcement, when all pictures before showed the daughter covering up with Palin's infant? Also, Palin campaigned FOR the bridge to nowhere and only after it was exposed for the pork it was, and CONGRESS withdrew most of the money, did she say "Thanks, but no thanks".... this is in the records. Palin has no more major experience than Obama.....so see was a member of the PTA, and as Mayor of Wasilla requested 27 million dollars in earmarks. How is that change? Go look at RECORDS, don't listen to BS.
You guys are missing the point. There were three important things that were brought out at the Republican conventiion that matter. (1) John McCain was a POW (Newsflash). (2) Sarah Palin is a Hockey Mom, just like you and me and (3) Cindy McCain came from humble beginnings even though she looks really, really rich now. What more do you need to know. If you count Rudy's speech don't forget the Terrorist and/or extremist Islamics are going to get you. You have to be brainless not to appreciate this great political platform. The simplicity of it all.
copper, ok, give us the exact locations of the "facts" you pointed out in your 8:56. Anyone can pull BS out of their [filtered word].
ibewalkingtomemphis....The fact is you trade insults daily and at the end of everyday we all learn you are just as stupid at evening as you were the morning. Your consistency is impressive! However, you never address issues you just respond with a another childish insult. If Palin has more experience than Obama & Biden...What immigration reform has she proposed? What free trade agreement has she proposed? When did she ever dispatch the National Guard since she has so much military command experience? I'm waiting...
