JOHNSTON, S.C. - Mr. James Thomas Rushton, Sr., 57, husband of Joy Goodwin Rushton, of Bland Baptist Rd., died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 2 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. Following the service the family of Mr. Rushton has chosen cremation. Mr. Rushton was a native of Greenwood, SC. He was retired from Mid-Atlantic Sawing and Sealing Company. Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, James T. (Frankie) Rushton, Jr., Johnston; Richard (Annette) Rushton, Graniteville; Brian (Becky) Saylor, Columbia, PA; 3 daughters, Kristin Saylor and Megan Saylor both of Pottstown, PA; Lindsey Rushton, Johnston; 2 brothers, Alvin Rushton, Johnston; Gary Rushton, Aiken; one sister, Betty Cornwell, Johnston; 7 grandchildren. Mr. Rushton was predeceased by two brothers, Laverne and Mike Rushton. Memorials may be made to Greenville Shriner's Children's Hospital, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until time of service. Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
