Museum program
Preserving History: Behind the Scenes at the Augusta Museum of History, designed to show visitors how the museum maintains its historical collections, will hold guided tours at 1 and 2 p.m. Saturdays through September. The museum is at 560 Reynolds St.
Space is limited to 15 per session, and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. The tour is free with the cost of regular admission.
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $2 for children and free for children under age 5 and museum members.

Ride 'em, cowboy
The Steel Horses Tour 2008 is coming Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20, to Fort Gordon's Barton Field. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and the rodeo will begin at 8.
Tickets for adults are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Tickets for ages 10 and under are $5 in advance and $10 at the gate.

Outstanding youths
The Augusta Chronicle is accepting nominations for Community Counts Youth of the Month. This award recognizes students of good academic standing who possess special talents in the arts, athletics or other areas. Youths who volunteer in their school, church or community also are worthy of nomination.
The child selected as Youth of the Month will be highlighted in an article in The Augusta Chronicle . A banquet will be held next summer to honor all 12 recipients of the award.
Nominees must be ages 8 to 18 and residents of the Aiken-Augusta area at the time of entry. Nomination forms are available online at augustachronicle.com/communitycounts.
