EVANS, Ga. - Lenora Strebeck Holloman received God's gift of eternal life of 1 September 2008 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA. Lenora, age 80, is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles R. (Russ) Holloman; her daughter: Suzanne H. Looms, Atlanta; her son: Mark S. Holloman, Raleigh, NC and her sister: Dona S. Sykes, Jackson, MS. She is the daughter of the late Jewell C. and W. Howard Strebeck. A native of Hickory, Mississippi, she resided in Texas, Wyoming, Germany, Arizona, Colorado, Japan, Washington and Virginia before moving to Georgia in 1973. As a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church she sang with the Chancel Choir for 30 years. She was a member of the O'Neil Sunday School Class. The persuasion of her Liberal Arts degree led Lenora to extensive involvement in volunteer work. For 35 years she was a volunteer Red Cross worker at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She was especially attracted to hands-on ministries of her church and prepared and served meals at the Masters Table for 25 years. During this time she also served as Red Kettle Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army. Lenora lived alive, making everything beautiful with her smile and sunny disposition. Love, doing the right thing, and serving others were guideposts on her journey through life as she walked humbly with God.
