Principal helps name state test
From Staff Reports
Thursday, September 04, 2008

Hammond Hill Elementary principal Janet Vaughan was one of two educators whose suggestion was chosen for the new South Carolina standardized test. Called PASS, or Palmetto Assessment of State Standards, the new test will replace the Palmetto Achievement Challenge Test in May.

Mrs. Vaughan and Penny Tritt from Calhoun Academy in Anderson independently submitted the name, which was chosen as one of five the public voted on.

Their suggestion won with 1,610 votes out of more than 6,000 votes cast.
