I'M A SENIOR at Evans High, and we've only been in school a few weeks, but parents using the senior honors lot as their own personal drop-off lane is already a major hassle. If they're too lazy to wait in the actual drop-off lane, they can either pay $20 to use the senior lot (like we all had to) or let their kid ride the bus.
I AGREE ALL our energy supplies should be utilized to cut our dependence on foreign oil, but those reserves that are Native American land entitle these tribes to royalties that must be paid.
A PLAQUE DEDICATING the arena in James Brown's name was fine. The extra expense was just so the authority members could get their names on a building in Augusta, to pat themselves on the back.
SAW YET ANOTHER young girls' dance troupe performing in less-than-modest attire to suggestive music all in front of a traditional audience. Guess we didn't appreciate the art in this jazz program.
WHY DON'T CITY politicos give us some excellent shows at the river amphitheater?
CAN THEY MAKE Bobby Jones three to four lanes all the way to Carolina? Why? Because I am tired of these jams at Deans Bridge and Gordon Highway interchanges. The Peach Orchard Road and Highway 56 exits aren't any better. Also, I am tired of being stuck behind slow drivers from Aiken, Burke, McDuffie, Warren and Lincoln counties, and whoever else drives 55 in the fast lane.
HEY, AUGUSTA! When you stop at a traffic signal or stop sign you are supposed to stop behind the white line in your lane. It is especially dangerous to continue on for a car length past that line, when I am making my left turn toward you, and my F250 is about to roll over your Prius!
DOES FRED RUSSELL live in a gated neighborhood with security like Deke? Both of them are out of touch with the majority of Augustans.
